The Industry is using “Homosexuality” as a gimmick?

After listening to an interview with Donnell Rawlings and the Breakfast Club, and reading the news of public figures who are “coming out”, I have wondered, why has this been such a big deal?
On July 10, 2012, Odd Future singer-songwriter Frank Ocean’s released his album entitled “Channel Orange”. Prior to this release on July 4, 2012, Ocean revealed he was a bisexual by a statement he posted on his Tumblr page.
Sports Illustrated was unsure of the future of Jason Collins for next year’s basketball season. During the 2012-2013 season, Jason was traded to the Washington Wizards and now he is an unrestricted free agent. Sports Illustrated has recently released his pioneering interview about his newly open homosexual lifestyle.
The next gentleman claims he is not a homosexual but there are conflicting reports of him being arrested for allegedly soliciting male prostitutes on different occasions. He claims the prostitute was an undercover female cop and the accusations are false, however, he does admit to being addicted to sleeping with prostitutes and strippers. The alleged individual is DJ Mister Cee from Hot 97.
The gay community has expanded and is supported by heterosexuals as well as homosexuals. Our President Obama shows his support as well as Hilary Clinton, Elton John, Lady Gaga, Anne Hathaway and so many others. The gay community has fought to get married and 70,000 same-sex couples have gotten married in the U.S. since. Businesses and Politian’s, most of the time, try to stay away from making the gay community mad because of the fear of protest against them that could possibly shut them down. The gay community is pretty much hardcore and they don’t play when it comes to their rights.
With that being said, can it be that the industry is turning towards the gay community to get support, sales, interest and money? What do you think?
