André a.k.a. Dré The General bio

André Plaskett, born a New York Bronx Bomber. Growing up in a Christian home under strict rules helped to mainstream his life. Born into a family of musicians, singers and producers, such as Davy Dmx (Run DMC, Kurtis Blow), Vinny Idol (The L.O.X., Redman) and an amazing keyboardist, John Peters, André had enough influence to become a keyboardist/producer at a young age. He began to learn how to play the piano and create his own music. “I was so determined to make music so I bought my first keyboard, a Korg Triton, with my own money at 17”.

Starting off engineering sessions later led to producing and mixing street mixtapes and forming his own production team along with Dot and Pro called Alectric Mayhem. André is also a member of the band “AMB” (Alectric Mayhem Band). André, also known as Dré The General, has either performed with or worked with 50 Cent, Eminem, Livré, Israel Houghton, Cory Gunz, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, Sheek Louch, Styles P, Peter Gunz, Lord Tariq, Supa Mario, Vinny Idol, Donnie McClurkin, Marsha Ambrosius, Jermaine Paul, Elle Varner, F.A.M.E., Gabi Wilson, Anthony Hall, Allen Stone, Tony Yayo, Hot Rod, YG, Lloyd Banks, Kidd Kidd, Genasis, Maleek, Lea Sunshine, Fred Da Godson, Remo Da Hitmaker, DJ Whoo Kid, Jeremih, Paris and Governor.

In 2007, Dré found a young gospel group called Livré, who later signed with Jeff Robinson’s new gospel label called Glory 2 Glory Records. Livré featured on Alica’s song “How It Feels To Fly”. Summer 2011, André and the group Livré performed for the taping of the 30th season of BET’s “The Bobby Jones Show”. The band appeared on the BET awards 2010 with Elle Varner from J records. André made an appearance on MTV’s 2011 “Son of a Gun” with longtime friend Cory Gunz. Alectric Mayhem scored the show and André was the music director for the taping of Cory Gunz Live show at Greenhouse, NYC. Currently André is touring with the rap music phenomenon 50 Cent as a Keyboardist. The Band performed with 50 Cent and G-Unit on the Dew Tour 2011. Andre and the band were also apart of 50’s show at South by Southwest 2012, where 50 performed his entire first album “Get Rich or Die Trying” featuring Eminem, Tony Yayo, Governor, Kidd Kidd and Paris.

To compliment his musical talents and production, André is a college graduate, where he studied Music Technology & Music Business. André is the music director at his church. He taught chorus to a local High School called Bronx Lab School for 2 years. Now he currently teaches music at F.L.A.C.S. (Family Life Academy Charter School), which is located in the Bronx, where he has been teaching for over 9 years.

André dreams to build after school programs all over New York City and possibly the world. “My main goal is to serve my community. I want to give them a chance to experience amazing accomplishments at a young age”.
